This ministry is made up of dedicated parishioners who meet monthly to knit and crochet shawls for those in need. Those who make the shawls help the knitter/crocheter to be open to the presence of God as they pray for the person who will receive the shawl. If you know of anyone in our parishes suffering from health problems, loss, or in need of comfort, our group would like to share a shawl with them. If you are interested in joining the ministry or need a shawl for someone contact Jill Ackerman at 218-587-4328.

Who we are:
Inspired by Gospel values, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a Catholic lay organization that leads men and women to join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to the needy and suffering in the local community. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a worldwide Christian community founded in Paris in 1833 by a group of young Catholic lay people under the leadership of Blessed Frederic Ozanam. St. Vincent de Paul (1581-1660) is the patron of the Society which bears his name. Pope Leo XIII named Vincent patron of all works of charity, and therefore, he is also known as the “Apostle of Charity” and the “Father of the Poor.” In 2011, Bishop Paul Sirba gave his permission to begin the work of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in the Duluth Diocese. Since then, three conferences (chapters) have been formed: St. Kateri Tekawitha Conference in Walker/Hackensack, St. Catherine Laboure Light & Hope Conference in Crosby/Deerwood and St. Anthony’s Living Water Conference at Our Lady of the Lakes Parish (Pine River/Pequot Lakes/Nisswa).
Membership:
St. Anthony’s Living Water Conference meets twice a month at St. Alice Church in Pequot Lakes. Meeting dates are the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month at 10:00 A.M. New members are always welcome. There are two levels of membership when considering joining the St. Vincent de Paul society:
1. Active – attend meetings when possible and be active in the work of the conference.
2. Associate – may or may not attend meetings or engage in the works of the Society on a regular basis. They are kept informed of the activities of the conference
